Creamery Remodel and South Town 18
The Creamery and South Town 18 (564 Higuera) have been approved for remodel and new construction. Located at the southwest edge of Downtown, the Creamery, a Master List Historic Property, received approval in July 2016 to update the property and replace the existing parking lot behind Spike’s Pub with a new pedestrian plaza. The project includes new paint, walkways, facades, an expansion of Spike’s Pub and new commercial and restaurant spaces.
South Town 18 will be constructed adjacent to the Creamery near San Luis Creek. The City Council, on January 17, 2017, approved the mixed-use project that includes 18 residential units, a small commercial space and parking. The units range in size from studios to one and two bedroom units. The project is designed to provide pedestrian connectivity to the Creamery. The remodel and new construction is an exciting project for the community and will rehabilitate and revitalize a Master List Historic Resource and provide much needed housing within the Downtown Core.
