The Business and Entrepreneurship Center at Cuesta College works with private, public and nonprofit resources to build strong, sustainable and successful businesses. Through community research regarding economic impacts and by providing fee based-technical assistance to regional businesses, the Business and Entrepreneurship Center at Cuesta College strives to improve the economic health of our community.
C3RP strives to facilitate collaboration between Cal Poly and business by acting as the interface between the university and interested collaborators. One of the major initiatives to support this mission is the establishment of a technology park on campus which is home to technology-based businesses particularly firms engaged in applied research and development that can uniquely benefit from on-campus facilities, talent and labs.
Combining Cal Poly’s "Learn by Doing" approach with the support of an active group of faculty, mentors and advisors is the key to developing a vibrant community of innovators and entrepreneurs. The Cal Poly CIE seeks to transform motivated students into resourceful, entrepreneurial and innovative leaders through classroom and hands-on experiences through events and programs that nurture talent and increase connectivity with between students and the San Luis Obispo business community.
iQ funds innovation and is designed to encourage innovators to pursue their ideas and get funded for it. As a non-profit, philanthropic corporation iQ strives to give back by enhancing and encouraging innovation and funding the next generation of great ideas.
Located in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo, The SLO HotHouse is collaboration between Cal Poly, the business community and the City of SLO. The SLO HotHouse is a physical space intended to support new innovations and growing companies. In addition to the co-working space, the HotHouse provides networking, educational and mentoring opportunities to individuals and teams interested in connecting to build an economy of innovation and creativity in San Luis Obispo.
SLO Seed Ventures is a membership group of accredited investors who provide resources for early-stage start-ups. As local residents and business people in San Luis Obispo, members have a passion for the innovative and entrepreneurial ideas fomented on the Central Coast and are personally invested in their success.
