    With the recent events at Lake Oroville, people have started to wonder about dams across the state. Here’s a quick overview of Whale Rock Reservoir’s dam and spillway. Preventative measures and inspections are routinely performed to ensure safe operation. Despite the large amount of rainfall we have received this year, Whale Rock would still need to rise roughly 25 vertical feet to reach 100% capacity and flow over the spillway.
