Q: Does the City of San Luis Obispo recruit annually for the position of Police Officer?

A: We recruit only on an as needed basis. Eligibility lists are good for one year.

Q: Does the City of San Luis Obispo recruit annually for the position of Firefighter?

A: We recruit every two years for the position of Firefighter. For candidates currently scheduled for the 2009 physical agility test, please see Candidate Instructions.

Q: Can I send in a copy of my resume or an application for you to keep on file for the next recruitment?

A: No. A completed City application for a current recruitment must be received in the Department of Human Resources to be considered for employment. Resumes are welcome, but will not be accepted in lieu of a completed City employment application. See How to Apply if you would like further instructions or if you would like to apply on-line.
