General Municipal Election, Tuesday, November 4, 2008
The Nomination Period for the City's General Municipal election will open on July 14, 2008.  The following seats will be on the ballot:

Mayor - 2-year term
Council Members - two, each with a 4-year term

A Candidates Guide and additional information regarding this election is available on the City Clerk's website. 

The City Clerk's Office will hold a Candidate Information Meeting on July 10, 2008, at 4 p.m., in the City Council Hearing Room, 990 Palm Street.  If you are interested in running for office and are unable to attend this meeting, please contact City Clerk Audrey Hooper at 781-7100.  Please check this website periodically for new and updated information.

29th Annual Triathlon
Sunday, July 27th

The SLO Triathlon is one of the oldest short-course triathlons in the country, where the emphasis is on completion, not competition. Volunteers are needed. For more information, contact the Parks & Recreation Department

Proposition 218 Notification and Sewer Rate Report:  The City Utilities Dept. has mailed a Prop 218 notification to all water and sewer customers regarding a proposed $0.50 increase to the sewer volume charge.  A public hearing on the proposed sewer rate change will be held on Sept. 2, 2008.

2008 Environmental Stewardship Report:  This online document summarizes the various ways the City of San Luis Obispo protects its natural resources and is an update to the original publication in 2001.  The report is organized into sections that highlight the many policies and programs the City Council, advisory bodies, and City staff have implemented over the years.  The City consciously chose to provide this report in electronic format to reduce the need to use printed material.
