Community/Major Special Events
Many special events are held throughout San Luis Obispo annually
ranging from fun runs, festivals, parades, crafts fairs, and more! For more information on any of the events on the
calendar, contact Christine
Wallace, Recreation Supervisor at (805) 781-7303.
Anyone wishing to sponsor a special
event within the City of San Luis
Obispo should obtain a
Special Events Permit Application
from the SLO Parks & Recreation Department.
The application fee must
be submitted with the application at least 60 days prior to the event. All other fees
applicable to your event are determined by following the fee policy included in the
Special Events Ordinance.
Street Banner Permits
Street banners are
an effective marketing tool for upcoming special events. Two
downtown locations are available: the intersection of Higuera and
Chorro and the intersection of Marsh and Carmel. A
banner
application and appropriate fees are necessary to reserve a
week-long location. Contact
Christine Wallace,
Recreation Supervisor at (805) 781-7303 for availability and more
