Dear SLO Triathlon Community,
For 40 years, we ran together, swam together, and biked together. Thank you, SLO Triathlon community, for your enthusiasm over the years.
In 2022, the City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department is bidding a bittersweet farewell to the SLO Triathlon after several years of declining participation and COVID-19 cancellations.
In place of the SLO Triathlon, the Parks and Recreation Department is bringing new public events, recreation programs and services to a wider range of our community. We’re creating new opportunities to support and learn from the natural environment, designing recreational events that are accessible to all, and expanding programs that encourage and support play, health and community building.
While we are saying goodbye to the SLO Tri, we are open to passing along the event to private parties to coordinate and put on the event. For more information about this decision, please review our announcement.
For more ways to run with us, bike with us and swim with us this summer, download our Summer Activity Guide at www.slorecactivities.org.
Thank you,
Parks and Recreation Department Team
