Water and Wastewater Service

We provide water and sewer services for properties within the city limits of San Luis Obispo.

For services outside of the city, contact your provider directly!

How to Start or Stop Your Service

There are three really easy ways to stop/start your service:

  • By Phone: (805) 781-7133.
    Available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (excluding holidays)

*Please note, effective April 1, 2024, our phone hours will be changed to 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


Account Setup Fees

When a new customer takes over service at a property, our service team has to physically go out to the property to take a meter read and start billing the new customer from that read forward. This essentially starts new accounts at zero and prevents any previous water usage from being charged to the new customer. As a result, one of the following cost-recovery fees are required.

  • For any new account, there is a one-time set-up fee of $42
    (***We require at least one full business day notice to set up any account***)
  • If you require same day service, we can come out after 4pm for a $507 after hours set-up fee.
