The City of San Luis Obispo and consultants are hosting a webinar via Zoom on June 21 at 12:30 p.m. to introduce the draft update to the City’s Economic Development Strategic Plan. The plan aims to ensure the city's competitiveness and relevance in a rapidly changing environment. It aligns with other major city goals and plans, including the 2023-25 Major City Goals, the Climate Action Plan, the Downtown Concept Plan, and the DEI Strategic Plan framework.
Community members can download the PDF of the proposed plan at www.slocity.org/Economy and provide feedback through Open City Hall from June 20 to June 26. The updated plan will be presented to the City Council for adoption on July 18, 2023. The existing Economic Development Strategic Plan (EDSP) was originally adopted in 2012 and updated in 2015. For the 2023 update, the City has engaged TIP Strategies, Inc. (TIP), a consulting firm based in Austin, Texas, specializing in strategic planning for economic development.
