Local Appointments List (Maddy Act)

Pursuant to Government Code 54972, this Local Appointments List is posted on or before December 31st of each year and contains a list of all appointive terms which will expire during the next calendar year, with the name of the incumbent appointee, the date of appointment, the date the term expires, and the necessary qualifications of the position. Note: The names on this list are subject to change based on term expiration and resignation that may occur during the year and updated notices may be posted from time to time.

City Advisory Body - current vacancies

Note that the City will open the Annual Advisory Body Recruitment on Monday, November 18, 2024 for scheduled vacancies shown below. The recruitment period will be open from November 18, 2024 to January 26, 2025. Appointments will be made by City Council on April 1, 2025. The last annual appointments were made at the March 19, 2024, City Council meeting.

Additional information concerning the positions may be found on the applications, which will 'go live' on Monday, November 18th at 8:00 a.m.

• Active Transportation Committee: There are currently two positions available, both with incumbents eligible for reappointment.
• Administrative Review Board: There are currently two positions available, one with an incumbent eligible for reappointment, and one vacant position. 
• Architectural Review Commission: There is currently one position available, with an incumbent eligible for reappointment.
• Citizens’ Revenue Enhancement Oversight Commission: There are currently two positions available, one with an incumbent eligible for reappointment, and one vacant position.
• Construction Board of Appeals: There are currently four positions available, three with incumbents eligible for reappointment, and one vacant position for a representative of the disabled community.
• Cultural Heritage Committee: There are two positions available, with incumbents eligible for reappointment.
• Housing Authority Board: There are currently three openings, all with incumbents eligible for reappointment. Two of the positions are for resident representatives and one position is for an at-large representative.
• Human Relations Commission: There is currently one position open, with an incumbent that is eligible for reappointment.
• Investment Oversight Commission: There is currently one position open, with an incumbent that is eligible for reappointment.
• Mass Transportation Committee: There is currently one position open for a member with technical transportation experience, with an incumbent that is eligible for reappointment.
• Parks and Recreation Commission: There is currently one position open.
• Personnel Board: There are currently two positions open, one with an incumbent eligible for reappointment. 
• Planning Commission: There are two positions available, both with incumbents eligible for reappointment.
• Promotional Coordinating Committee: There is one position open, with an incumbent eligible for reappointment. 
• Tourism Business Improvement District Board: There are currently two positions open, both with incumbents eligible for reappointment.
• Tree Committee: There are three positions open, two with incumbents that are eligible for reappointment.

If there are no current openings, you are encouraged to fill out a “Job Interest Card” and select the category "Community Services." You will receive an email alert if an unscheduled vacancy occurs during the year.  You can also create an account online which will allow you to pre-load an application into the NeoGov system.
