Volunteer to serve in the City of San Luis Obispo for our first bi-annual city-wide clean up event on Saturday, September 23 from 9 AM - 12 PM, where volunteers will roll up their sleeves alongside staff to clean up *two creek locations and support a safer, healthier, and more beautiful community and ecosystem.
Two sites:
- The creek at Mission Plaza
- The creek at Bob Jones Bike Trail
This volunteer opportunity is best suited for those with the ability to walk the distance of the creek site on uneven ground, follow written and verbal directions in English, and commit to wearing long pants and close-toed shoes. Volunteers will be exposed to and asked to support clean up efforts of hazardous materials. All personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and water will be provided. Please bring a reusable water bottle.
Volunteers will receive a confirmation email prior to 9/23 with more information on what to bring, expect, location assignment, and City of SLO staff point of contact.
*Volunteers will be assigned to one of two creek locations accompanied by staff who will orient and oversee volunteers for the duration of their shift.
Those under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian for the entirety of the shift.
All volunteers will need to have a completed City Affiliate and Registration form on file and register.
