The Jr. Ranger Activity Camp (JRAC) is a week-long environmental education experience designed to teach campers about the many facets of San Luis Obispo’s natural environment. JRAC is focused on promoting environmental awareness in kids. Campers will enjoy a bit of classroom style instruction combined with outdoor hands-on learning. At the completion of each session, campers will be a warded a Jr. Ranger certificate and will be inspired to continue their outdoor education.

Kick off the summer with the City of SLO Ranger Service in a week-long environmental camp. SLO PEAK incorporates basic front-country hiking and camping knowledge through Leave No Trace principles. Campers immerse themselves in nature while learning how to appreciate and protect the places they love. 

FEES

$125 per week

Package price includes: a full week of care (Monday through Friday 8am to 2 pm), a daily schedule of activities/lessons, and morning snack.

*No refunds. Credits may be issued upon approval from the Ranger Services Supervisor.

JRAC CAMP INFORMATION

  • Participation in previous Jr. Ranger Camps should not discourage interested parties from registering. Each Camp incorporates different themes and new activities.
  • Spaces are limited, register early:

    Last day to register for SLO PEAK is June 8, 2016  .

  • Rangers provide water bottles for Campers. Campers have unlimited access to drinking water throughout the day.
  • Drop-off and pickup location of Camp will be the outdoor gazebo area located at the end of Laguna Lake Park. Parents/guardians MUST sign campers both in and out of Camp daily.
  • Campers must bring a lunch.
