The City of San Luis Obispo’s Parks and Recreation department is hosting a Family Water Safety Day. This free event is offered as part of the National Water Safety Month and is designed to build a safer community by providing resources on a variety of topics. Information booths will discuss how to be safe around an aquatic environment, the importance of personal flotation devices, how to safely reach and assist someone struggling in the water, the importance of sun safety, a mini class of our aqua aerobics program, and swim lesson level screening. All those who attend the 1 hour program will be invited to stay at the SLO Swim Center free of charge for a 2 hour family fun swim. This program is for adults and children, so bring your suit and towel for a day of safety and fun!
