The San Luis Obispo City Council invites all interested persons to attend a public hearing on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo. - The City Council will review an appeal of the Planning Commission's decision on June 12, 2024 to approve a Conditional Use Permit to establish a fraternity for up to 24 residents at 1264 and 1264 ½ East Foothill Boulevard and 1241, 1243, 1249, and 1251 Monte Vista Place. The project includes a request to provide two (2) parking spaces in tandem on an existing driveway along East Foothill Boulevard. The project is exempt from environmental review under Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines. - The City Council will hold a Public Hearing to consider any protests against the continuance of the San Luis Obispo Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID). If a legally sufficient protest is not made, Council will consider adoption of a Resolution affirming the continuation of the TBID, setting forth the basis for the assessment, and levying the assessment with no changes upon hotels in the district for fiscal year 2024-25, at the same rate (2%) as all prior years.

- The City Council will consider a Resolution of Intention to abandon portions of the City right-of-way on Slack Street and to set a public hearing for November 12, 2024 to consider a Resolution of Abandonment and Detachment. The applications are proposed to accommodate a Cal Poly faculty and staff housing development at the corner of Grand and Slack, as well as right-of-way and City limit adjustments to correct historical boundaries. Pedestrian access and utility easements shall be preserved. The project is consistent with the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Cal Poly 2035 Master Plan and the EIR Addendum for the Slack and Grand Faculty/Staff Housing Project.
