The Active Transportation Committee (ATC) meets in-person on the third Thursday of every other month (starting with January) at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo. Active Transportation Committee Agenda Packets

Effective October 10, 2024, ATC Agenda Packets may be accessed from the same location as City Council agendas and various other Advisory Body agendas. This change has been made to further accessibility and transparency by providing one convenient location to view information about upcoming meetings. Please refer to the Public Meeting Agendas page for further information.

Agendas for regular meetings must be posted at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting but are commonly posted one week in advance. (Note: Meeting materials prior to October 2024 may be found in our Archive)

Purpose, Membership and Terms

The ATC provides oversight and policy decisions on matters related to bicycle and pedestrian transportation in the City of San Luis Obispo and its relationship to bicycling and walking outside the City. The ATC consists of seven members, who must be residents and registered voters of the City. Members are appointed to four-year terms and are eligible for reappointment for an additional four-year term. The roster of current members, date of appointment, and date of term expiration can be reviewed on the City's Local Appointments List.

How can I express my opinion on an upcoming agenda item?

Public Comment during the meeting:

If you would like to provide public comment during the meeting you must attend in person. 

Public Comment prior to the meeting can be submitted in the following ways:

• Mail or Email Public Comment
  •  Received by 3pm on the day of meeting - Can be submitted via email to advisorybodies@slocity.org or U.S. Mail to City Clerk at: 990 Palm St., San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
  • Emails sent after 3pm on the day of meeting – Can be submitted via email to advisorybodies@slocity.org and will be archived/distributed to members of the committee the day after the meeting. Emails will not be read aloud at the meeting.
• Verbal Public Comment
  • Received by 3pm on the day of the meeting - Call (805) 781-7164; state and spell your name, the agenda item number you are calling about and leave your comment. The verbal comments must be limited to 3 minutes. All voicemails will be forwarded to committee members and saved as Agenda Correspondence. Voicemails will not be played during the meeting.
  • During the meeting – You must attend the meeting in person

All comments submitted will be placed into the administrative record of the meeting.
