Amenity Updates & Beautification Project
Emerson Park is in the downtown core of San Luis Obispo at 1341 Nipomo Street, adjacent to the Parks and Recreation Department main office building. Current amenities at Emerson Park include two bocce ball courts, an old basketball court, community garden plots, a weathered black top, playground, picnic tables, turf area with an old backstop, and new exercise equipment.
The City was awarded a California State Parks Prop 68 grant of $2.81 million in December 2021 and has started the design of a project that will bring the existing amenities and services to current safety and ADA standards at Emerson Park (except for the exercise equipment that was recently replaced through another project and the community garden area that may be upgraded in-house with City staff).
Community Feedback Opportunities
The City values the input from our community and have organized opportunities to receive community feedback on the concept layouts. Your input is greatly appreciated!
