The Highway 101/Chorro Street underpass is one of the main entrances to downtown San Luis Obispo from the north.

RRM Design Group, Thiessen Design and Marmalade Mural Co. collaborated on the design. Thiessen built and installed the fencing and Marmalade designed the mural, which should be installed by the end of the year
The public art project aligns with improvements to the North Chorro Neighborhood Greenway, a 1.7 mile corridor project with new protected bike lanes and enhanced pedestrian facilities
This will be the first permanent public art included at a freeway underpass in the City of SLO
The City Council approved the public art on July 19, 2022. The agenda, staff report and video are available at www.slocity.org/agendas
