Along with pavement rehabilitation and restriping, proposed improvements to Tank Farm Road include: 

• Restriping the Broad/Tank Farm intersection to provide two westbound auto lanes on Tank Farm continuing through the intersection.
• ADA curb ramp upgrades.
• Potential to convert roadway from four auto lanes to two auto lanes (plus a center median/turn lane) on Tank Farm from Poinsettia to Righetti Ranch Road to reduce illegal speeding and improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
• Installation of radar speed feedback signs and additional speed limit signs.

• Upgrades to Tank Farm/Poinsettia pedestrian crosswalk, including high-visibility crosswalk markings, potential for curb extensions (“bulbouts”) to shorten crossing distance, and additional safety lighting.
• Installation of an enhanced pedestrian crossing at Tank Farm/Morning Glory/Sunrose, with high-visibility crosswalk markings, potential for curb extensions (“bulbouts”) to shorten crossing distance, additional safety lighting, and installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) .

• Addition of RRFB beacons at the Righetti Ranch Roundabout, improving visibility for pedestrians crossing Tank Farm Road.
• Addition of green bike lane conflict markings at intersections and high-traffic driveways.
• Addition of protected bicycle lanes with flexible bollards separating bicyclists from motor vehicle traffic where roadway width allows between Broad Street and Orcutt Road.

Proposed improvements for this segment of Orcutt Road include pavement rehabilitation and restriping only.   

Along with pavement rehabilitation and restriping, proposed improvements to Tank Farm Road include:

• Measures to reduce illegal speeding around roadway curve north of Capitolio, including striping modifications, flexible bollards, and centerline hardening (bots dots) to encourage safe speeds and reduce encroachment into bike lanes and sidewalks.
• ADA curb ramp upgrades.
• Installation of radar speed feedback signs and additional speed limit signs.

• Addition of green bike lane conflict markings at intersections and high-traffic driveways.
• Addition of striped bike lane buffers, where width allows.   
• Moderate expansion of parking restrictions at intersection corners (“daylighting”) to improve sight distance and safety for all road users. 
• Pilot installation of traffic calming measures between Via Esteban and Industrial Way to reduce illegal speeding. Initial installation proposed using temporary bolt-down rubber speed cushions to allow for monitoring of effectiveness and potential impacts to commercial trucks and emergency response vehicles, with potential for further modifications and permanent materials at a future date.

Along this stretch of Calle Joaquin south of the Motel 6, pavement rehabilitation and restriping are proposed on the roadway with the addition of edge striping on the shoulders for added visibility at night.
