Clean-Up Week is a community service program provided by San Luis Garbage twice a year, offering free collection of extra trash bags for single-family residential customers, along with discounted scheduled pick-up of bulky or large items for both single-family and multi-family customers.

Extra Trash Bags (Single-Family Residential Customers):
- Item Limits: You may set out up to 6 bags of trash (32-gallon capacity each), with a maximum weight of 75 pounds and length of 4 feet per bag for no additional cost.
- Organic material, such as yard trimmings, leaves, grass, and wood, are NOT accepted in your extra trash bags on Clean-Up Day. Items in these bags are sent to the landfill, and organics should never be disposed of in landfills. To arrange an extra organics pick-up on your regular collection day, please contact San Luis Garbage at 805-543-0875.
Special Item Pick-up (For Single & Multi-Family Residential Customers):
If you have scrap metal, small appliances, bundled green waste, e-waste, white goods or bulky/large items, you can schedule a special pick-up at a discounted rate during Clean-Up Week.
- Scheduling: Call San Luis Garbage office at 805-543-0875 at least 5 days before your collection day to schedule the pickup.
- Reminder: Bulky/large items will not be picked up unless scheduled in advance and leaving items on the curb without a scheduled pickup is prohibited.
Items NOT accepted:
Hazardous waste is NOT accepted. Examples of hazardous waste include paints, cleaners, motor oil, and pesticides.
Set-out Instructions:
- Collection Time: Please have your trash bags and bulky/large items at the curb by 6:30 AM on your regular collection day.
- Reminder: Ensure your containers are not blocked by trash bags or bulky/large items, as our automated trucks will still be operating.
