EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Suppression Assignments

• Assists with training administrative duties.
• Assists with creation of training videos.
• Assists with tracking certifications and records.
• Assists crews with station and apparatus maintenance.
• Assists crews with suppression training drills and simulations. 

Prevention/Community Risk Reduction Assignments

• Supporting business and self inspection program.
• Assists with tracking inspections and recordkeeping.

Mobile Crisis Unit Assignments

• Assists MCU case manager with management of contacts with community members in need of social services.
• Operates the MCU vehicle and/or provides map reading support to minimize call response time.
• May be assigned as the primary EMT to the MCU. See Emergency Medical Technician job description for further details. 

Fuel Crews Assignments

• May assist with fuel mitigation to assist with risk reduction throughout the city.
• May work with the parks department crews to accomplish project work in the open space and in city wildland interface.
• Operates hand tools and chainsaws to remove vegetation from areas in the city. 

Fire Apparatus Maintenance Assignments

• Assists with fabrication and installation of equipment on suppression and staff vehicles.
• Assists with engine maintenance and servicing.
• Assists with cleaning and organization of shop materials.
• Assists with cleaning and upkeep of all staff vehicles. 

Emergency Management Assignments

• Participate in EOC training.
• Assist with EOC preparation and readiness.
• Assist with emergency plan development.
• Assist community preparedness and education events.
