Coming Summer 2030
The City will be constructing a new interchange crossing Highway 101 between the Madonna Road and Los Osos Valley Road exits that will reduce traffic congestion, allow for easier access to Highway 101 with new northbound on- and off-ramps, and support the creation of more housing here in San Luis Obispo.
- Review the Environmental Document
- Review the updated Traffic Report
Project Benefits
When completed, the Prado Interchange will connect Dalidio Road and the new San Luis Ranch neighborhoods with Prado Road, creating an additional thoroughfare in San Luis Obispo that will:

- Support future housing and commercial development in south San Luis Obispo
- Reduce traffic congestion on Higuera Street, Madonna Road and Los Osos Valley Road
- Create a new cross-town route connecting important regional destinations, including the 40 Prado Homeless Services Center, Laguna Lake, Madonna Road retail centers, and Margarita Area residential neighborhoods.
